Pendulum Waves
A collection of pendulum wave simulations where pendulums with slightly different frequencies create mesmerizing patterns of synchronization, interference, and convergence. Each variant arranges the pendulums in a different spatial layout — line, ring, double ring, grid, or spiral — producing unique visual effects as the phase relationships evolve over time. All pendulums start and end in alignment, with the emergent wave patterns arising entirely from the frequency differences between them.
Implementations
Classic
15 pendulums swing with slightly different frequencis
Grid
Pendulums arranged in a 2D grid with frequency varying by both row and column.
Ring
Pendulums arranged in a circle, each swinging radially outward with slightly different frequencies.
Double Ring
Two concentric rings of pendulums swing radially outward with independently configured frequencies.
Spiral
Pendulums placed along an Archimedean spiral, swinging radially outward. Frequency increases along the spiral arm.
